2013 is almost over and as the Germans say, we’re currently “in between years” which means it is time to reflect on the old and anticipate the new! Looking back on 2013, I am not sure if I would have or could have done anything differently although it was a year full of uncertainty and unsteadiness for us. We had to move twice in just one year; spend weeks crashing on friend’s and families futons but we have arrived, at last! Just in time for 2014, we have settled into our new home and we’re ready to welcome the New Year!
No better way to ring in the New Year than with a celebratory cocktail and the company of good friends and family! Ok, the latter, you are responsible for but let me help you find the perfect “clean” cocktail for your New Year’s Eve fest!
I collected the most delicious, inspiring cocktails I could find; I have not tried all of these but I can guarantee you’ll find something you like!
I have sorted these recipes by main (alcoholic) ingredient so you may find a few recipes more than once in different sections. The majority of these cocktails are processed sugar free; there are one or two that call for sugar or agave; just substitute with a natural sweetener of your choice!
Sparkling Wine | Champagne Cocktails
I simply love sparkling cocktails! Especially on New Year’s Eve, you cannot go wrong with a fizzy drink. Impress your guests with a sparkling wine concoction and take a look at these wonderful recipes:
Clean & potent, these cocktails are incredibly delicious and super easy to prepare!
Whiskey | Bourbon Cocktails

Just read through the list – don’t they all sound exciting? I can’t decide which one to try first! I am impressed with the creativity of these mix drinks!
In my opinion, rum is the ultimate winter/holiday alcohol. I love the aroma and it’s not a proper holiday if it doesn’t involve a rum cocktail! Take a look at these amazing recipes:
Hot Beverages | Mulled Wine
If you celebrate New Year’s Eve outdoors, may I suggest you take a thermos and fill it with any of the following?! We’ll be spending New Year’s on the Appalachian Trail and you better believe I will bring my favorite German Mulled Wine to keep me warm and cheerful in the cold!
These drinks aren’t just for designated drivers; they are as healthy as they are delicious with only the best ingredients.
