Hi! I am Rose! Welcome to The Clean Dish!
I’m a German gal living in North Carolina with my handsome Soldier and our sweet rescue dog, Biscuit. Moving to the US was one of the biggest adventures of my life! Although I miss Europe, I’m excited about living on a different continent and exploring this beautiful country I now call home.
Food is on my mind. All the time. I daydream about creating delicious meals and pairing them with (mostly organic) wine. Sourcing local and seasonal ingredients is a priority!
I love rainy days in fall, picnics, gypsy jazz, freight trains, and vintage travel posters. Most everything in our home is repurposed or upcycled. Some of my favorite cloths come from thrift stores; my next car is going to be an old Wagoneer.
Rock climbing and trail running are my natural mood lifters. I collect vintage post cards, I love murder mystery dinner parties and my favorite kitchen gadget is a 1970s Vita-Mix that will outlive any new age-y blenders – guaranteed!
My Soldier and I dream about being self-sustainable and turning every square meter of land around our house into an edible organic garden.
My life is better without grains, gluten, and refined sugar. Yours may not be and only you know what’s best for you, but consider this: A ketogenic diet (a diet low in sugar and grains) can reverse cancer. No sugar means no fuel for cancer cells and a healthy immune system.
I’m not a full-time vegan, but I strive to be. Having said that, I’d happily dig into some homemade cheese on occasions if I had my own cow or goat. Animal welfare is an issue; CAFO (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations) are horrendous places which you support every time you eat conventional (and sometimes even organic) dairy, eggs and meat.
A plant-based diet is the way to go! Try it – you might like it, too!
Interested in working with me? I’d love to chat with you!
